About the UMRSAAC
Founded in 1980, UMRSAAC (Upper Midwest Region of the Shelby American Automobile Club) is a regional chapter of the national SAAC Club. We are head quartered in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul and have over 180 member families located throughout Minnesota and surrounding states. Although we are a chapter of the Shelby Club, our focus is on all Ford-powered cars and trucks. You do not need to own a Shelby to become a member...the only requirement is that you enjoy being around others with similar interests. Our members are interested in all aspects of the car hobby including cruising, restoration, car shows, racing, mechanical repair, and other social events.
For over 25 years we have been an active Club with many diverse interests. We present two car shows every year, a charity fund raising event, host a great winter party and attend shows. We also organize other fun events such as drive-in movie nights, bowling and go-kart races. Working with our partners Apple Valley Ford and St. Hubert's Catholic Church we give something back to our community by putting on a yearlong raffle to raise money for charity. 2009 is our 13th year holding the raffle and we are proud to have raised over $350,000 for charities including Sharing Caring Hands, Make-A-Wish Foundation, St. Hubert’s School and numerous other local causes. Members participate by selling tickets, moving the car to dealerships in the winter and locating a quality Mustang for the raffle. Through these and other activities UMRSAAC has become a well-known club in the area and is invited to attend or participate in cruises and shows with other area clubs. In turn, we invite other Ford-powered clubs to attend our show and park as a club. Members include men and women of all ages with a variety of backgrounds and interests. There is no need to have automotive knowledge to join a car club. Many members just like to 'turn the key and drive'. If you are an experienced car person' you'll find as much in-depth knowledge in Ford products as you'd like. Your membership includes a monthly newsletter, monthly meetings plus participation in all of the Club activities. The Club is also a great way to connect with others who have similar interests and can offer help and advice on restoration, performance enhancement or related topics. We hope you enjoy our Website. Feel free to use the 'Contact Us' page if you have questions.
